Vietnam Experiences Oral History Project This series of interviews explores the experiences of military personnel, nurses, Red Cross recreational volunteer workers, and those involved in the anti-war movement during the United States involvement in the Vietnam War. The time frame primarily discussed is from 1967-1971. Narrators describe how they ended up going to Vietnam, combat experiences, impressions of the country and the people of Vietnam, hardships, racism, alcohol and drug abuse, feelings about US involvement in the war and related politics, and experiences after the war such as visiting the Vietnam Memorial in Washington DC. These interviews were conducted by Chris Graham in 1996 as part of an internship with the Idaho Oral History Center.
