Salmon National Forest Oral History Project

Conducted by Elizabeth Smith in 1969 through 1970 for the Salmon National Forest, these ten interviews discussed the history of the Salmon National Forest. The narrators worked for the Forest Service in a variety of jobs, beginning as early as 1907. Some were involved in other occupations in the Salmon area. Topics include Forest Service, fires, wildlife, Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC), Mines and Mining and others. Any use of these interviews must credit Salmon National Forest as the originator of the project.
