Italians in Idaho Oral History Project Conducted by Dr. Russell Magnaghi in 1985, these interviews deal primarily with Italian-American communities in the Pocatello and Priest River areas. The narrators, which included some second generation immigrants, came from all parts of Italy. Topics included: reasons for immigrating, typical work performed by Italians, such as mining, railroad work, and farming, business ventures by Italians, social activities and clubs, religious gatherings, life during the Prohibition, and traditions such as wine and sausage making. Many narrators also discussed their experiences with the non-Italian immigrants, locals, and Native Americans in their area.
